Maxion Wheels unveils its commercial vehicle wheel growth strategy

After an absence of four years, the IAA Transportation took place in Hannover from September 20 to 25, 2022 Under the motto "People and Goods on the Move", the world's largest trade show for the logistics and transport industry presented innovations in the fields of commercial vehicles, transport, logistics and buses.

Trade visitors and mobility fans from all over the world gathered at the event to discover new technologies, best practices, and mobility insights not found elsewhere but at IAA Transportation, which has always played a key role in shaping the development of automobiles and commercial vehicles.

Europe's lightest mass-produced steel truck wheel

Less wheel mass, more payload

With a weight saving of 3 kg per wheel compared to current state-of-the-art steel truck wheels, Maxion Wheels lightweight wheels can increase payload by 40 kg or more. This new generation, starting with the first wheel, a 22.5 x 11.75, will raise the standard even further.

Becoming carbon neutral through Roadmap Zero

In 2021, Iochpe-Maxion issued sustainability-linked bonds to the value of $400 million and implemented a series of sustainability objectives in line with the 2040 target. Maxion is on course to reduce Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions in 2025 by 30%, against a 2019 baseline. By 2030, 90% of the company’s electricity will be from renewable sources. CO2 reductions will reach 70% by 2030.

New truck forged aluminum wheels plant in Turkey

Maxion Wheels and its partner Inci Holding will build a new plant in Manisa, Turkey, to offer forged aluminum Commercial Vehicle (CV) wheels beginning in 2024.

The new plant with an initial installed capacity of 350,000 wheels per year can be expanded to double this amount in subsequent years.
