Driving Toward a World Record with Zero Emissions

Maxion Wheels is proud to partner with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in supporting the Challenge4 team’s Guinness World Record attempt for the most countries visited in a continuous zero-emission journey. Behind the wheel of a fully electric VW ID. Buzz—equipped with Maxion’s next-generation 18-inch steel wheels—the team will traverse over 80,000 kilometers across 75 countries and six continents. This ambitious eight-month expedition not only showcases the durability and sustainability of Maxion’s steel wheels, but also highlights our commitment to advancing net-zero emission mobility.

Kickoff in Hanover

All packed up and ready to go. On July 1, 2025, the team of Challenge4 started their journey in the VW ID. Buzz leaving Hanover, Germany, heading to Berlin and then north towards Scandinavia.

First Stop: Berlin

After an exciting first day, the VW ID. Buzz reaches Germany's capital - Berlin. Time to rest before crossing the first border tomorrow!

First Continent Completed

The team reaches their first big milestone: After only 19 days, 37 countries visited and more than 17,000km driven, the European part of the tour is complete.

Second Continent Completed

106 days later: The team explored 12 more countries, adding 22,000 km. In total, Maxion wheels carried the VW ID. Buzz for 125 days across 49 countries and 38,833 km. Asia complete — next stop: Australia!

3,000 km across Australia: In only one week, the team drove from Melbourne to Perth. Country count hits 50! Next stop: Africa.
