In March of 2019, Maxion Wheels and the Dongfeng Motor Parts and Components Group announced the agreement to form a new passenger car aluminum wheel joint venture. The new legal entity, Dongfeng Maxion Wheels will build a two-million per year capacity plant with series production scheduled for second half of 2020. On June 6, 2019, the company held a groundbreaking ceremony at the future site of its 22,000 square meters plant in Suizhou, China.

The new joint venture operation, expected to initially bring more than 450 new jobs to the region, will produce low pressure die cast aluminum wheels, including high-end wheel finishes, as well as, other innovative wheel features.
