Maxion Wheels Recognizes 2024 Supplier of the Year and Green Wheel Award Winners

Cologne/Bonn, Germany, – 

As part of our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and ethical business practices, Maxion Wheels continues to lead with purpose and responsibility on the global stage. Our dedication to sustainability not only strengthens our operations but also ensures the resilience of our supply chain in an increasingly dynamic economic landscape.

To uphold these values, we set rigorous standards for our suppliers – standards that are continuously monitored and evaluated through a range of performance tools.

Today, we are proud to celebrate those who have risen to the challenge. We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2024 Supplier of the Year awards, honoring exceptional partners across each Maxion Wheels Business Unit.

In addition, we are delighted to present the second annual “Green Wheel” award, first introduced in 2023, which recognizes suppliers who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in advancing our sustainability objectives.

Supplier of the Year Americas: 

HENKEL LTDA (Brazil)

Henkel Ltda. Brazil is a subsidiary of Henkel, a German stock-listed company with operations in 79 countries and close to 50,000 employees globally. Henkel Ltda. operates two plants in Brazil – one for pre-treatment and hot melt adhesives in Jundiai, which supplies products to Maxion, and another one for adhesives and sealants in Itapevi.

They feature a good performance in all Americas plants with an annual SPE score “A”. Additionally, the supplier has already signed Maxion Wheels’ Global Manual for Supplier Requirements, the Iochpe-Maxion Supplier Code of Conduct, the legal agreement, completed the SAQ and CDP questionnaires.


Supplier of the Year Asia: 

HYDRO ALUMINIUM ASIA (Singapore)

Hydro Aluminium Asia is a subsidiary of Hydro Aluminium AS, Norway, located in Gateway West, Singapore. A long term supplier of aluminum to Maxion Wheels’ light vehicle aluminum plants in Saraburi, Thailand, and Pune, India, Hydro Aluminum Asia boasts a strong performance with an “A” SPE score. They comply with all required certificates, and support Maxion Wheels with fair commercial conditions.


Supplier of the Year EMEA: 

HYDRO ALUMINIUM AS (Norway)

Hydro Aluminium AS is an aluminium and renewable energy company operating in more than 140 locations and 42 countries. The company, based in Oslo, Norway, was founded in 1905 and employs 32,000 people, is a supplier of raw material to Maxion Wheels’ aluminum plants in Ostrava (Czech Republic), Dello (Italy) and Manisa (Turkey).

Their strong performance secured them an “A” SPE score. In addition, they have completed the SAQ and CDP questionnaires, provided all required certificates and have signed Maxion Wheels’ Global Manual for Supplier Requirements. 


Green Wheel: 

HYDRO ALUMINIUM AS (Norway)

In addition to winning two regional Supplier of the Year accolades, Hydro Aluminium AS was chosen to receive the Green Wheel Award 2024, Maxion Wheels’ award for the supplier with the lowest CO2 emission factor. This rare triple recognition highlights Hydro Aluminium’s exceptional performance across regions and its unwavering commitment to sustainability.
